Grape Nuts

Anyone like em? I was raised on em as a yoot, and I bought two boxes today. Part of my plan. I like em, but why are they called grape nuts?

Glenn likes them but never buys any.

I'm a corn flake, rice krispie girl.

I used to only eat cheerios or bran flakes but they got so expensive.



Grape-Nuts is a breakfast cereal developed by C. W. Post in 1897. Post was a patient and later competitor of the 19th-century breakfast food innovator, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg. Neither grapes nor nuts have ever been ingredients in the cereal. The original formula for Grape-Nuts called for grape sugar, which is composed mostly of glucose unlike most other sugar sources and food sweeteners which are principally sucrose. This, combined with the "nutty" flavor of the cereal inspired its name. Another explanation originates from employees at Post who claim that the cereal got its name due to the cereal's resemblance to grape seeds or grape "nuts".

Well who knew. I don't like sweet things for breakfast, and I like to be filled up. One thing that you can do with grape nuts is put a little milk, brown sugar, and butter in a bowl and microwave em. OMG!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE raisin bran without the raisins microwaved with milk.

It has to be raisin bran, I just pick the raisins out.

Now I'm getting some tomorrow.

raisin bran is one of my faves too!

But sometimes I like the simple joy of fruit pebbles.....

Lucky Charms - I love Lucky Charms. I don't buy them because when I have them in the house, I eat them until I am sick.

I love oatmeal made in the microwave with brown sugar and 1/2 and 1/2, too.

I dont like too many cold cereals.

I do like raisin bran, shredded wheat and alphabits. I prefer oatmeal and cream of wheat though

although those new chocolate Chex are pretty tasty.



Does anyone put potato chips or Fritos on their sammies? I do and I wonder if I am weird?
I have even put Fritos in tomato soup

That doesn't sound too bad. I love Fritos ...and I'll bet the scoops would be even better in tomato soup.

once I ate cottage cheese with those Frito scoops.

I like Fritos with ranch dressing and especially in chili.

I can't have that right now.
